Heading to the other side of the world to spend time underground

The London Underground to be exact... With my big move to the other side of the world I got wondering about what part of london I might like to live... any suggestions? It might end up being just where I can find somewhere affordable =)... What is your favourite part of london?
If I were you I'd move to East London, somewhere near Brick Lane as thats where a lot of vintage markets, good fashion, and a big art/photography scene. Especially Camden.
